The Korean Music Copyright Association (KOMCA), led by Chairman Choo Ga Yeol, has announced the 2025 list of creators promoted to full membership. The list includes Seventeen’s S.Coups, Younha, and Lee Mu Jin, among others.

On January 24, KOMCA published the names of 30 individuals who have been promoted this year on its official website. Each January, KOMCA selects new full members based on its regulations. The selection criteria are based on copyright royalty distributions according to membership duration. Creators across various musical genres, including pop, traditional Korean music, children’s songs, and religious music, are eligible for promotion.

This year, notable creators such as S.Coups, Younha, Lee Mu Jin, Epik High’s Tukutz, The Quiett, GroovyRoom’s Hwimin, and MayBee were promoted, drawing considerable attention.

S.Coups, the leader of Seventeen, has contributed to the lyrics and composition of several of the group’s hit songs, including "Super," "God of Music," "Don’t Wanna Cry," and "Very Nice." This marks the third KOMCA full member recognition within Seventeen, following Woozi in 2019 and Vernon in 2024.

Lee Mu Jin, a singer-songwriter who gained recognition as the third-place finalist on JTBC’s 'Sing Again,' is celebrated for his self-composed hits like "Traffic Light," "Crosswalk," and "Episode."

Younha achieved a remarkable comeback with her 2022 track "Event Horizon," which became a sleeper hit. She has also composed numerous songs, including "Waiting," "Comet," and "c/2022YH."

With Tukutz’s promotion, all members of Epik High are now KOMCA full members. Tukutz played a key role in composing and arranging all of the group’s albums, joining Tablo and Mithra Jin in achieving full member status. The producer duo GroovyRoom saw Hwimin promoted this year, following Gyujeong’s promotion in 2024.

Other names on the promotion list include The Classic’s Park Yong Joon, singers Park Yong In, and Park Sang Chul, and rising composers Kim Hee Soo, Noh Joo Hwan, Kim Joon Sung, Jung Seok Hwan, Kim Yoon Ho, Hwang Yoo Bin, and Jeon Byung Seon.

In non-mainstream music categories, children’s songwriter Choi Shin Kyu, religious music composer Jung Sung Sil, and traditional Korean music creator Hwang Jin-ah were also recognized. Additionally, MayBee and The Quiett were reinstated as full members under KOMCA’s regulations.
