Actor Yoo Ah In, currently on trial for habitual drug use, has reportedly sold his single-family home in Itaewon for 6.3 billion KRW (approximately $4.8 million USD).

According to recent reports by BizHankook, Yoo Ah In urgently sold the property, which he originally listed three years ago with an asking price of 8 billion KRW. However, the home was sold at a significantly reduced price on October 20th for 6.3 billion KRW.

The property, purchased in February 2016 under the name of his personal agency, UAA Company Ltd., was featured in an episode of MBC’s 'I Live Alone.' Yoo originally acquired it for 5.8 billion KRW (around $4.4 million USD).

Violation of building regulations uncovered

The home was also revealed to be a "non-compliant structure" at the time of sale. Yoo had illegally expanded 10.8㎡ of the ground floor by installing windows, a violation discovered during an August 2017 inspection by the Yongsan District Office. Despite receiving orders to restore the structure, the issue remained unresolved for over seven years. The new owner will now be responsible for either paying a compliance penalty or restoring the property to its original state.

Drug charges and legal proceedings

Yoo Ah In is currently facing trial for habitual drug use. He is accused of administering medical narcotics, including propofol, 181 times at hospitals across Seoul from September 2020 to March 2022, under the pretext of cosmetic procedures requiring sedation.

In the first trial, Yoo received a sentence of one year in prison and a fine of 2 million KRW (approximately $1,500 USD). The second trial’s second hearing was held on October 19th, and the final verdict for the appellate trial is expected on December 24th.
