Singer Se7en refuted the claims made by G-Dragon.

He reacted strongly to statements that he lost a dance battle against singer Rain, and he challenged the assertion that Big Bang’s “Bang Bong” was the first official fan light stick.

On November 6, Se7en posted a compilation video on his Instagram story with the caption, “It seems our Ji Yong (G-Dragon’s real name) got something wrong." This was in response to a video where G-Dragon mentioned that Se7en once lost a dance battle against Rain.

In the latest episode of 'Zip Daesung,' G-Dragon revealed that Big Bang was the first to win in a friendly dance competition between YG artists and JYP artists. JYP Entertainment and J.Y. Park, along with YG Entertainment and Yang Hyun Sukhave a long history of having friendly dance competitions between their trainees. Daesung mentioned, "It all started with Rain and Se7en - the two (J.Y. Park and Yang Hyun Suk) showing off their trainees to each other." G-Dragon then chimed in, During the battle between Rain (JYP) and Se7en (YG), we lost, as far as I know," noting that Se7en lost against Rain. G-Dragon went on to say that he and Taeyang were the first to win against the JYP trainees, which was a mix of JYP trainees that included future members of 2PM (including Jay Park and Jun.K). Taeyang chimed in that Yang Hyun Suk was so happy that G-Dragon and Taeyang won that he treated them to some Korean BBQ.

Additionally, Se7en objected to Big Bang’s claim that their first-generation “Bang Bong” was the first-ever fan light stick. G-Dragon claimed on 'Zip Daesung' that the "Bang Bong" was the very first light stick in K-pop. Se7en claimed that his "7 Bong" light stick came out a few years before the "Bang Bong."

In a previous appearance on MBC FM4U’s 'Noon Song of Hope with Kim Shin Young' back in 2022, Se7en explained the reason behind creating the fan light stick "7 Bong." He shared, “At that time, fan cheering was mainly done with balloons of various colors,” and noted that as he was about to debut, there weren’t any available balloon colors left, so he created his own light stick in the shape of the number "7," which he claims to be the first.

Se7en, who debuted in 2003 with hits like “Come Back to Me” and “Passion,” married actress Lee Da Hae in May of last year. Meanwhile G-Dragon released his new song “POWER” on October 31, his first in seven years, and is set to perform at the '2024 MAMA Awards' after a 9-year absence on November 23.
