On November 14 KST, rapper HAON announced the release of his new single, "Skrr", featuring Giselle of aespa.
The rapper also shared a set of retro, behind the scenes photos with Giselle, raising anticipation for the unlikely collaboration.
However, the news of Giselle's collaboration with HAON is currently receiving criticism from some Korean netizens.
Previously, HAON faced backlash after asking fellow 'School Rapper 2' contestant Ha Seon Ho (Sandy), "Are you feminist?" during an Instagram Q&A. (In South Korea, some men consider the term "feminist" to be descriptive of females who participate in the feminist movement in order to create a society that favors women over men. There are even those who accuse "feminists" of being "misandrist".) In response to HAON's question, Sandy commented, "Wtf, what do you want me to say?", leading to speculations that the male rapper may be "anti-feminist".
Then, earlier this month, HAON also became wrapped up in dating rumors with the infamous BJ Juice Seyeon after attending her birthday party. While both HAON's and BJ Juice Seyeon's sides promptly denied the rumors, the incident was nevertheless received negatively by the male rapper's critics.
Meanwhile, HAON is set to release "Skrr" feat. Giselle of aespa on November 20 at 6 PM KST.
