Announcer-turned-model Kim Na Jung has reportedly tested positive for methamphetamines.
Kim Na Jung was reported to police following her concerning posts about drug use on social media, and after arriving in Korea from the Philippines, she was reportedly immediately questioned by airport police. According to police, Kim Na Jung arrived at Incheon International Airport from Manila, Philippines on November 12 and was questioned for about 2 hours by Incheon Airport Police before she was allowed to return home.
A police official stated, "Kim Na Jung was questioned to clarify the facts related to the posts she made on social media. She has not been formally charged with drug use, and the investigation was conducted at the pre-investigation (preliminary) level."
According to some reports, Kim Na Jung was given a preliminary drug test by the airport police, and the test showed a positive result for methamphetamines. The police have reportedly requested a detailed drug analysis from the National Forensic Service.
Earlier the same day, Kim Na Jung's mother had reported to the Seodaemun Police Station in Seoul that her daughter might have been kidnapped while in the Philippines. The police notified the South Korean Embassy in the Philippines, and the embassy assisted in ensuring Kim's safe departure from her local accommodation to the airport.
Previously, on the morning of the 12th, Kim Na Jung posted on her Instagram: "I am at the Conrad Hotel in Manila. I am being threatened with my life," and "I am too scared to go to the airport or take a taxi. Please help." The post included a photo of the interior of a hotel in Manila. Shortly after, she posted screenshots of text messages saying, "Please call me," and "Please contact me," along with a request for someone to call the embassy.
