After Timothée Chalamet look-alike contest goes viral, similar events spread across the U.S.

Following the popularity of the Timothée Chalamet look-alike contest last month, similar competitions featuring figures such as One Direction members Zayn Malik and Harry Styles, actors Dev Patel and Jeremy Allen White, have gained traction across the United States. Now, K-pop stars have become the focus of these events.

According to local media, a contest to find the best BTS Jungkook look-alike was held on November 24th (local time) at Ping Tom Park in Chicago. The winner received a bottle of soju and $20 as the prize. Many fans participated, showing off baggy outfits, tattoos, and piercings to emulate Jungkook’s style.

The winner was Andrew Alexander, a YouTuber with around 260,000 subscribers. He wore a white oversized t-shirt, a black puffer jacket, and gray acid-wash jeans. Additionally, he sported tattoos and piercings similar to Jungkook’s. Andrew had previously garnered attention from ARMY (BTS’s fandom) four years ago with a YouTube video where he transformed into Jungkook.

Fans shared mixed reactions to Andrew’s win. One fan commented on Twitter, “He kind of looks like him.” Another said, “He doesn’t look like him, but he nailed the piercings.”
