As NewJeans effectively issued an ultimatum to HYBE, citing potential "termination of their exclusive contract," ADOR, the group's agency, has begun to respond to the escalating tension.
On November 27th, one day before the ultimatum's deadline as stated in certified mail from NewJeans, ADOR addressed the recent "workplace bullying" controversy involving member Hani through its official channel.
Explaining its previous silence, ADOR stated, "We were concerned that disputes over the facts might spark unnecessary controversies about ADOR's artists, so we maintained a cautious stance. However, despite our efforts, the controversy has persisted, prompting us to clarify our position."
The controversy arose after Hani disclosed that she overheard a manager from another HYBE-affiliated label advising someone to "ignore" her. Belift Lab responded, denying the claim, stating, "The ILLIT Protocol member (manager) never made such a comment, and ILLIT members never passed by NewJeans without greeting them."
