Fans were unimpressed by the seemingly "low budget quality" of Seventeen's 2025 Season's Greetings, based on a preview film revealed on November 28 KST. 

The theme for Seventeen's upcoming Season's Greetings was "Day-Off", depicting how each of the members might spend a casual day off. While some members were seen posing against backgrounds fitting with the theme, as in the case of Dino posing in a cozy hotel room stacked with suitcases or Joshua sitting down for an evening spent playing games, others posed in front of sets that seemed rather indiscriminately put together. 

In particular, fans named the background sets for DK, Mingyu, Wonwoo, Vernon, and Seungkwan's solo cuts as the "worst sets". 

Many commented,

"It seriously looks so half-a**ed."

"What is with that stack of cheap plastic chairs in DK's cut lol."

"WTF, now what happened to all that Seventeen revenue, Pledis?"

"I'd believe it if you told me this was for an idol group from one of those tiny companies with like 9 employees."

"Is that a printout background in Vernon's cut..."

"It's fine. I'm not gonna buy it anyway so it doesn't matter if the quality is horrible."

"I would actually love to do a better job of boycotting, but I actually stopped buying Seventeen's Season's Greetings years ago because the quality was so terrible."

"Why does Wonwoo get a single sheet of plastic kekekekeke."

"I'm not lying when I say there are smaller companies who do much better."

"At this point, even the fans who aren't boycotting won't buy this."

"I wasn't gonna buy it anyway but thanks for confirming for me, Pledis."

"This just makes it easier to boycott."

"Maybe the employees are actually getting in on the boycott too..?"

"They really said, 'The fans are boycotting anyway, let's cut the costs down to as low as possible to milk the remaining fans dry'."
