FTISLAND’s Choi Minhwan cleared of allegations of soliciting prostitution and sexual misconduct.
The Seoul Gangnam Police Department announced on November 29th KST that they have decided not to forward the case against FTISLAND member Choi Minhwan to prosecution, citing insufficient evidence for allegations of violating the Anti-Prostitution Act and sexual misconduct.
Last month, on October 24th, Choi’s ex-wife, former LABOUM member Yulhee, posted a video on her YouTube channel accusing him of misconduct. She alleged that Choi frequented adult entertainment establishments and shared an audio recording suggesting prostitution, which shocked the public.
Yulhee further claimed that Choi inappropriately touched her in front of their family, saying, “He would touch my body or stick money into my chest.”
Amid the controversy, Choi Minhwan announced his withdrawal from all ongoing broadcasts and declared a hiatus from activities. Previous shows he appeared on were also removed from platforms. Additionally, a citizen complaint was filed through the National Petition System, requesting an investigation into Choi for violating the Anti-Prostitution Act.
In response, the police began investigating Choi last month. However, it was reported that Yulhee refused to cooperate with police inquiries multiple times.
Choi and Yulhee married in 2018 but divorced in December 2022. They share a son and twin daughters.
