On the morning of October 21st, a press conference for Netflix's new original series 'Hellbound 2' was held at JW Marriott Dongdaemun Square in Seoul, Jongno-gu. The event was attended by director Yeon Sang Ho, writer Choi Gyu Seok, and cast members Kim Hyun Joo, Kim Sung Cheol, Kim Shin Rok, Im Seong Jae, Moon So Ri, and Moon Geun Young.
Moon Geun Young shared her excitement about joining 'Hellbound 2', stating, "I've always wanted to work with director Yeon Sang Ho, and fortunately, I got the chance with 'Hellbound 2'. I had so much fun during the shoot, and I was thrilled to challenge myself with a new character."
Regarding her role as a teacher at Haessalban, she explained, "My character is deeply immersed in religion. She was a very ordinary person but gradually became consumed by religion, eventually rising to a position where she incites the Arrowhead group."
Moon Geun Young further emphasized, "Through 'Hellbound 2', I attempted the most drastic transformation since my debut. I wore so much makeup that I could hardly recognize myself," she said. "I've always had a passion for new roles, but those opportunities didn't always come as I wanted, so I constantly felt a hunger for something more. Director Yeon Sang Ho offered me such an intriguing role, and I was overjoyed. It felt like I had found my place. I went into filming with the mindset of 'Let's have fun,' and I worked hard with great excitement."
'Hellbound 2' delves into a world increasingly in chaos due to the continued proclamations of people being sent to hell. The plot revolves around the sudden resurrection of New Truth Society's leader, Jeong Jin Su, and Park Jung Ja, and how lawyer Min Hye Jin, the New Truth Society, and the Arrowhead faction become intertwined in a new conflict. The series is set to be released exclusively on Netflix on October 25th.
