Jessi was spotted at the Gangnam Police Station in Seoul today.
According to reports on October 16, the rapper underwent police questioning to investigate the perpetrator who assaulted her fan. As previously reported, a fan who requested a photo of Jessi was assaulted by a member of her entourage as seen in CCTV footage.
Jessi arrived at the police station around 10:05PM KST and stated to reporters, "I hope they find the person who hit him quickly, and that he gets punished. I will speak honestly about everything." When asked by reporters if she had seen the assailant before the day of the incident, Jessi said, "I saw him for the first time." When asked if she had anything to say to the victim, she stated, "I'm really sorry."
Jessi's lawyer also confirmed, "It's true she saw the assailant for the first time that day, and we will provide an explanation after the investigation."
As reported, a fan, who was also a minor, had approached Jessi's group to request a photo but was assaulted by a man identified as A in the early hours of September 29, in Apgujeong-dong, Gangnam. CCTV footage showed Jessi's group trying to stop assailant A, but Jessi left the scene shortly thereafter, raising suspicions that she ignored the fan assault by the member of her entourage.
After the police were notified, Jessi was found at a nearby bar, but A was reportedly not with her. The police inquired about A's whereabouts from Jessi's entourage at the bar, but they claimed not to know. Previously, the police summoned producer B, a close associate of Jessi, for questioning regarding the assault charges. He is known to be a friend of A. As the incident came to light, Jessi and three others were accused of assault by the victim. Following this, a netizen reported them for aiding and abetting.
Jessi has since apologized for the incident, but netizens are still having a negative response about the way the rapper handled the incident.
