The second season of 'Pachinko' is gaining buzz as the perfect series to binge-watch during the upcoming Chuseok holiday.
Premiering back on August 23, Apple TV+’s 'Pachinko' Season 2 ranked first in the TOP 10 TV Shows category on Apple TV+ in nine Asian countries, including Korea, according to the global OTT ranking site FlixPatrol on September 12.
The story begins in a small boarding house in Yeongdo, Busan, in the early 1900s, follows the journey of the protagonist Sunja, and spans four generations of a Korean immigrant family, including her parents, son Noa, and grandson Solomon. Like in Season 1, Season 2 also portrays the heartwarming and moving story of Sunja and her family as they navigate life’s hardships, driven by their love for each other during tumultuous times.
Starting with a forbidden love, the narrative unfolds across Korea, Japan, and the United States, exploring the complex emotions of war and peace, love and loss, resonating deeply with many viewers. 'Pachinko' is based on the New York Times bestselling novel of the same name and delicately and warmly portrays the hopes and dreams of a Korean immigrant family. It delivers a message deeper than a simple family story, leaving a profound impact on its audience.
In particular, the grand saga of Sunja’s family, spanning generations and intricately connected, has earned a reputation as the ideal drama to binge during the Chuseok holiday. Season 2 of 'Pachinko' consists of eight episodes, with new episodes released every Friday until October 11.
