On his 30th birthday, BTS leader RM shared a touching message with fans, expressing his gratitude and reflecting on the milestones of his life and career.

In the letter, RM thanked fans for showing unchanging support and the heartfelt birthday wishes sent by them.

RM wrote:

"Hello,

To all of you whom I love so dearly,

I’ve turned 30. (Already...)

On this day, which I sometimes felt was insignificant even to myself, I am so grateful for the heartfelt congratulations you’ve sent me. Thank you so much. You know that it's because of you that I’ve been able to hold on, right?

There is a saying in Buddhism:
'Rely only on yourself as your own light.'

When my heart feels unstable or when anger rises for no reason, I think of these words from faraway Hwacheon.

There’s so much I want to say at this moment, but today I’ll let a few photos I post on Instagram speak for me instead.

Like RPWP (or that documentary—), there will surely be a time and place to express things in a more beautiful and meaningful way. But that place is not here.

I’ve now passed the halfway point of my military service. It reminds me of the halfway point in the 3km runs we did at Nonsan Training Camp, when I’d be gasping for air. It’s fleeting, isn’t it?

After the snow falls, the new year begins, the days warm up, and the cherry blossoms bloom, I will come to see you all, standing tall.
