On August 24, it was discovered that a billboard for the group QWER had been vandalized. Red paint was splashed all over the billboard and specifically on the members’ faces, along with the word “FAKE” written on the poster. The photo is currently gaining traction online as netizens debate the incident.
In regards to the situation, QWER’s production company, Tamago Production, stated: “We are currently checking the details of the incident in which red paint was sprayed over the faces of the QWER members.” The company plans to release an official statement once their investigation is complete.
QWER has recently been gaining attention for their unique band concept, and consists of the members Chodan, Magenta, Hina, and Siyeon. The group announced their plans for a comeback only one day before the vandalism occurred.
As the photo of the vandalized billboard has gone viral online, controversy has erupted over the incident. Some netizens think the entire situation is a publicity stunt, while others are concerned for QWER’s safety, claiming that the vandalism may have been carried out by malicious anti-fans.
