On the morning of August 29 KST, a representative of Seoul Bangbae Police Station commented that former NCT member Taeil was "booked for a sexual offense in June", and that the investigation is ongoing.
Currently, little is known about the singer's sexual offense case. A day earlier, the police denied the online rumors that Taeil committed a sexual offense against a minor of the same sex.
Meanwhile, news that Taeil was in fact booked by police in June of this year has led to various speculations. Some netizens accused Taeil himself of "hiding his crime" from his label, SM Entertainment, while others pointed fingers at SM, accusing the agency of "covering up" the case for 2 months and allowing a criminal case suspect to promote during NCT 127's most recent comeback.
For the time being, several NCT members including Jaehyun, who recently released his solo debut album 'J', are postponing all schedules until further notice.
