On August 29 KST, the members of FIESTAR revealed the full story of how they reunited as a group in a new video shared on Cao Lu's YouTube channel.
Here, the 5-members first opened the video with their signature greeting, "Let's FIESTAR! Hello, we are FIESTAR!".
Next, the members took turns sharing their thoughts on the possibility of a FIESTAR reunion. Yezi said, "I thought that it would be meaningful only if we could get all 5 of us together," while Hyemi remarked, "It's not hard for us to meet up personally, but I couldn't picture in my head what it would be like to actually practice, and release an album, and promote like the old days." Linzy added on, "Whenever I saw members from idol teams on the musical set, I was really envious. I thought, 'I used to have members too'."
Next, Cao Lu revealed, "The day that we disbanded, with all wrote rolling papers to one another. I remember that someone had written, 'Let's shine as bright as we can in our respective places, and then when time passes, let's meet again and create a big, shining light'. That was my dream, for us to reunite one day. To fulfill that dream, I saved up money doing live commerce in China. After I'd saved up, I went and bought a song."
The eldest member continued, "There are plenty of good new songs out there too, but it's difficult to start from scratch. And there's also lingering attachment to the song 'You're Pitiful'. So I bought the copyrights to 'You're Pitiful', so we could re-record it and release it."
Hearing this, the other members gave Cao Lu a round of applause, thanking the eldest member for her efforts.
FIESTAR will be releasing the 2024 version of "You're Pitiful", originally released in 2015, on August 31 at 12 PM KST. The single will be released in both Korean and Chinese. August 31 also marks the girl group's 12th anniversary date, making the occasion even more meaningful for the members and their fans.
