LE SSERAFIM's Hong Eunchae apologized for allegedly mocking school students.
At LE SSERAFIM's showcase for their mini album 'Crazy' on August 29, Hong Eunchae addressed a previous controversy that occurred because she allegedly made comments that mocked students during a live stream. She expressed, "I thought about it too comfortably without knowing it because I was communicating in a space with fans. I should have known that the closer we are, the more careful I should be. I didn't think deeply. I apologize for my immature behavior and for disappointing everyone. I will show a more responsible image with a careful heart in the future."
Hong Eunchae previously stated during the stream in March of 2023, "You all go to school for a long time. It must be hard." In September of the same year, she spoke up again on topic, stating she did not understand studying at school. It seems her comments angered many school-aged netizens, who felt the LE SSERAFIM member was making disparaging remarks about students.
Netizens commented, "It's good she apologized. Adults wouldn't care, but kids didn't like it. It's better to be clear with an apology, so when it's brought up later, you can say you apologized," "Suddenly? But I mean, she says she'll make the effort. It's not like she committed a crime," "She needs to apologize and show a more mature image," "Teens are criticizing her so badly on Instagram and TikTok. It's too much. I don't think what she said was that bad. I'm glad she apologized though," and more.
