tvN's upcoming weekend drama "Jeong Nyeon" has revealed its first two posters, giving a glimpse into the drama set against the backdrop of a 1950s female opera troupe.

"Jeong Nyeon," based on the popular Naver webtoon of the same name, tells the story of Jeong Nyeon, a "natural-born vocal genius" striving to become the top female opera performer in the post-Korean War era. The drama will explore themes of rivalry, solidarity, and personal growth, all set against the vibrant and romantic backdrop of 1950s Korea.

The drama has already generated significant buzz, not only due to its unique subject matter but also because of its impressive cast and crew. Directed by Jeong Ji In, who won the 34th Korea PD Awards' "PD of the Year" for "The Red Sleeve," the show stars Kim Tae Ri, Shin Ye Eun, Ra Mi Ran, Jung Eun Chae, Kim Yoon Hye, and features a special appearance by Moon So Ri.

On August 21 KST, two posters were released, further heightening anticipation. The first poster showcases the five main characters from the top female opera troupe of the time, "Maeran Women's Opera Troupe." Kim Tae Ri transforms into the prodigious vocalist Yoon Jeong Nyeon, while Shin Ye Eun plays her formidable rival, Heo Young Seo, who is equally talented in singing, dancing, and acting. Ra Mi Ran exudes charisma as the troupe's stern leader, Kang So Bok, while Jung Eun Chae and Kim Yoon Hye captivate as the troupe's "prince" Moon Ok Kyung and "princess" Seo Hye Rang, respectively.

The second poster features a romantic 1950s street scene, with Kim Tae Ri's character gazing up at the opera house's signboard in admiration. This imagery symbolizes her dream of becoming the star of the stage, igniting excitement for the revival of the female opera era.

As one of the most anticipated dramas of 2024, "Jeong Nyeon" is set to premiere on Saturday, October 12, at 9:20 PM KST.
