Actor Hwang Jung Eum and basketball player Kim Jong-kyu (Wonju DB Promy) have broken up just two weeks after confirming their relationship.

According to E-Daily on the 5th, Hwang Jung Eum and Kim Jong-kyu have recently ended their relationship.

A close source revealed that the two were cautiously getting to know each other, but after their relationship became public, they felt pressured and decided not to pursue the relationship further, opting to remain good friends.

The news of their relationship was first reported exclusively by E-Daily on July 22nd. According to Hwang Jung Eum's close acquaintances, the two became close as they comforted each other during difficult times. 

However, the attention from those around them eventually led to their breakup.

Hwang Jung Eum debuted in 2002 as a member of the girl group Sugar before transitioning to acting. 

She has been actively working in dramas such as MBC's "High Kick Through the Roof", SBS's "Giant", MBC's "Can You Hear My Heart?", "Golden Time", "Kill Me, Heal Me", "She Was Pretty", SBS's "The Undateables", JTBC's "Mystic Pop-up Bar", and KBS2's "Men are Men". She recently appeared in SBS's "The Escape of the Seven" and "The Escape of the Seven".

Basketball player Kim Jong-kyu began his professional career in 2013 with Changwon LG. He transferred to DB in 2019 and led his team to the top of the regular league last season, averaging 11.9 points, 6.1 rebounds, and 1.2 blocks per game. He also played as a member of the national team for 14 years, starting in 2011.
