Comedian Park So Young and former baseball player Moon Kyung Chan confirm relationship.

Comedian Park So Young and former baseball player Moon Kyung Chan have revealed that they have been dating for three months. The news of their relationship was first shared on SBS PowerFM's 'Bae Sung Jae's Ten' on August 22 KST, where Park So Young made a surprise announcement during the show.

When asked by the host, Bae Sung Jae, if there was any good news to share, Park So Young revealed, "I'm currently dating someone. He's not a celebrity; he used to be a baseball player and retired this year. His name is Moon Kyung Chan, and he retired from the Lotte Giants." She added that they started dating recently and mentioned, "I was waiting for someone to ask, so I could talk about it, but no one did. I didn’t mind sharing."

Park So Young, who was born in 1987, and Moon Kyung Chan, born in 1992, are a couple with a five-year age gap. Park So Young explained how their relationship began, saying, "We’ve known each other for a while, but he was in Busan. After he retired and moved to Seoul, we reconnected through mutual friends. When we met again after some time, I felt something special and realized he might be my ideal type. I initiated contact, and things progressed from there."

The day after her on-air revelation, on August 23, Park So Young shared more about why she chose to publicly disclose their relationship. "During the radio show, they were talking about good news, and it felt strange to deny my relationship when I had a boyfriend. So, I just spoke honestly, which is how I usually am," she explained with a laugh.

After the show, Park So Young admitted she had second thoughts, saying, "After I said everything, I realized I might have said too much and felt a bit sorry about it." However, she also revealed that Moon Kyung Chan was supportive, telling her, "You did well," when she called him after the show.

The swift public confirmation of their relationship led some to speculate about a potential marriage. Park So Young responded cautiously, saying, "We need to discuss that before making any announcements. If there’s good news in the future, I’ll be sure to share it. I’m someone who prefers to be honest about everything."

When asked about her family's reaction to the news, Park So Young said, "I don’t think my parents have seen the news yet. I sent them a screenshot, but they haven’t replied." Moon Kyung Chan expressed his gratitude for the public's interest in their relationship.

With their relationship now public, Park So Young and Moon Kyung Chan have joined the ranks of other comedian-baseball player couples, becoming the third such pair after Huh Min and Jung In Wook, and Kim Young Hee and Yoon Seung Yul.

Park So Young debuted as a comedian in 2008 through KBS's 23rd public recruitment. She gained popularity through her appearances on shows like Mamma Mia and Human Condition, and especially through the Mantis Kindergarten segment on KBS2's Gag Concert.

Moon Kyung Chan was drafted by the Kia Tigers in the second round of the 2015 KBO draft, later moving to the NC Dinos through a trade in 2020. He eventually joined the Lotte Giants before retiring this year. Most recently, he appeared in the tryouts for the new season of JTBC's 'Strongest Baseball.
