Actress Lee Hyeri will transform into a 1999 cheerleader for her return to the big screen this summer in the movie 'Victory.'
The distributor announced on the 5th, "The film 'Victory' (directed by Park Beom Soo) has confirmed its release date for August 14." A teaser poster and trailer have also been released, hinting at the bright atmosphere and character stories.
'Victory' is a cheerful drama about the 'Millennium Girls,' a cheerleading club full of passion but lacking experience. The story revolves around their energetic dances and songs that cheer everyone up.
The poster exudes freshness, showing the nine members of the Millennium Girls leaping into the air above the sea, each holding pom-poms and smiling, filled with passion and energy.
The trailer opens with the narration of the protagonist Pil-seon (played by Lee Hyeri), who confidently declares, "When is your prime time, teacher? Mine is now!"
The film captures the essence of 1999. Nostalgic backgrounds like neighborhood arcades and classrooms unfold, followed by Pil-seon and Mina (played by Park Se Wan) dancing hip-hop wherever they go.
The trailer explodes with bright energy, showcasing the energetic cheerleading of the nine members. Finally, Pil-seon confidently states, "We cheer through dance."
A representative noted, "The background music is another highlight," mentioning popular 1990s songs like 'Turn Around' (Deux), 'Why Call' (Diva), 'Show' (Kim Won-joon), and 'Twist King' (Turbo) that add to the fun.
The chemistry among the actors of similar age is also anticipated. The cast includes Lee Hyeri, Park Se Wan, Lee Jung Ha, and Jo Ah Ram, who reportedly boast a 200% character synchronization.
