Hwang Jung Eum was sued by the woman she wrongfully called out as her husband's mistress.
According to media reports on June 22nd, the actress was sued by the woman she wrongfully called out as her husband's mistress for defamation and slander. It was reported that the woman was unhappy with the settlement statement from Hwang Jung Eum's side where they have deleted the substance that the actress is acknowledging the fact that she has defamed the woman. Additionally, there was a clause that the woman would pay the actress back twice the settlement amount if the woman violated the agreed settlement.
The woman commented, "I wasn't sure if Hwang Jung Eum was really sorry and regretful of her action. She was treating me as if I was some money-hungry person who was trying to rip her off with settlement money. I couldn't stand it so I filed a suit."
According to the woman, Hwang Jung Eum slashed the settlement amount by half from the original amount they discussed and that the actress would pay it over time.
On the other hand, her agency is claiming that the woman suddenly demanded twice the amount right before finalizing the settlement. Her agency emphasized that the actress is doing her best to resolve this on good terms.
Meanwhile, Hwang Jung Eum recently faced criticism when she called out a non-celebrity woman for being the mistress of her husband, Lee Young Don. The issue was Hwang Jung Eum revealed the individual's face and even exposed the woman's social media account user name. This caused the woman to receive numerous malicious comments from Hwan Jung Eum's fans.
