This week on the popular YouTube program 'Giant Peng TV', host Pengsoo visited SM Entertainment for a job interview.
While wandering through the SM Entertainment building, Pengsoo discovered a mannequin-like structure displayed on one of the floors. He asked, "What's the name of this sculpture?", and one of the employees answered, "It's Karina."
Hearing this, Pengsoo remarked, "Karina sunbaenim..? Hmm... It just goes to show that it is difficult to replicate someone like Karina sunbaenim."
It turns out, the sculpture displayed at the SM Entertainment building is a contemporary art piece by sculpture artist Kitagawa Hiroto. Inspired by Karina's powerful performance, the artist depicted the aespa member's pleiotropic qualities using future-oriented design elements.
How did Karina herself react to this contemporary sculpture of herself?
After the episode of 'Giant Peng TV' aired, Karina told fans on Bubble,
"How did the word get out that there's a sculpture of me at our company.
I was keeping it a secret.
After they installed it there, I was with Aeri when I saw it, and I told her.
That's you.
But then the name Karina was written right below it."
Many netizens found Karina's cute and funny reaction relatable, commenting, "'That's you' kekekekeke. It's what you say to your best friend whenever you see something ugly kekekekeke. She is so real", "Giselle was attacked kekekekekeke", "Lol it's always either 'That's you' or 'That's your boyfriend' when you see something weird while you're with your girls", "Karina's Bubbles are so funny", "I get why she wanted to keep that sculpture hidden kekekekeke", and more.
