Super Junior's Ryeowook has taken a stand against a malicious commenter who claimed to be a fan. In a recent online exchange, Ryeowook addressed the commenter's criticism of his abilities and questioned their true fandom.
On April 18, Ryeowook shared a capture of a malicious comment by a netizen claiming to be a Super Junior fan. The online user commented, "Wow, do you seriously think you earned money purely through your capabilities? I don't have much to say, given I'm a Super Junior fan. Ryeowook, get a grip. You're not at that level where you can earn money with just your ability. Wake up."
Ryeowook responded, "Who are you to talk about levels? I've never let go of my grip. Please stop writing malicious comments."
He also clapped back, questioning if the malicious commenter was an actual Super Junior fan. He wrote, "I didn't think I needed to explain myself, but there are people who assume and judge that I don't value even my fans. Why do you think that when I said, 'I earned money not because of you but because I worked hard,' it means 'you = the fan'?"
Ryeowook continued, "The people who write, 'he earned money thanks to the fans but he's claiming the credit for it. I feel bad for the fans, if I were his fan, I would be hurt,' Do you think you can write something like that to hurt my feelings because you're a fan who spent money? Isn't that abusing your power? Why can't I give back the hurt I receive? Aren't celebrities human too? Should they endure and overlook everything? At this rate, only AI celebrities will be left."
He added, "I don't consider the antis who badmouth me, hurt me, and leave malicious comments claiming to be fans because they spent money as fans. Not because of you, but right now, at this moment, there are my real fans who support me and get angry with those who badmouth me. They are the precious people who have trust, have been with me in the past, and have a future ahead with me. It's what we've achieved together. I hope you realize that the words you casually throw out in text where your face isn't shown can later come back to haunt you in your own future and cause regret."
Korean netizens responded, "Malicious commenters are not fans," "People like these malicious commenters who claim to be fans don't even spend money on the group," "What he said is so true," "These 'fans' who leave malicious comments like that shouldn't call themselves fans," "He said it well," "Why are they calling themselves fans if they're going to leave malicious comments like that," "What Ryeowook said is so true. You're not a fan," "Why are they leaving comments like that under the pretense they are a fan?" "That is not a fan," "People like them are crazy," and "Don't say they are a fan."

Good for him. I think most of these celebs have the patience of saints, I wouldn't have been so polite.
