On April 25, Min Hee Jin, the CEO of ADOR, NewJeans' agency, held a press conference to address recent accusations made by HYBE about herself.
During the conference, the CEO called out various instances of wrongdoing from HYBE, unveiled personal text messages with HYBE CEO Bang Si Hyuk, and claimed that NewJeans members and their parents have shown support for her.
Following this press conference, various polls have been conducted on Korean forums and platforms, asking netizens to choose between siding with Min Hee Jin or HYBE.
So far, Min Hee Jin is receiving stronger support from the public, as compiled by a trending post on "theQoo" with over 500 comments.
Netizens commented:
"HYBE's mediaplay is so fucking dirty... Stop it."
"Please tone down the media manipulation... Honestly, I can't say I'm on Min Hee Jin's side, but HYBE's media propaganda is just too overwhelming."
"It's not just communities, but also YouTube and Instagram, the public opinion is like that."
"The more I watch, the more I see that she’s just an office worker… No wonder I felt strange from the beginning when I heard about someone holding less than 20% of the shares intending to take over management rights. Now looking back, I see she’s just a mentally drained worker being tossed around by the company."
"The company's purpose of trying to dominate the market against individuals seemed too clear."
"It feels like a fight between a big corporation and an individual."
"I watched the whole thing live. She’s just sincere. She’s not influenced by power or similar things, just speaks her mind. She’s infinitely sincere with NewJeans."
"The tyranny of large corporations is truly the worst."
"Mr. Bang is really petty. It’s because Min Hee Jin’s company is doing better, so he’s jealous."
"Over the past two days, they've been pushing a barrage of media manipulation, and if you look at the timing of the unrelated Shaman article, it's shocking to anyone."
"I understand how unfairly Min Hee Jin has been treated."
"If she can act like this for 2 and a half hours, she’ll probably win the Oscar for Best Actress. This isn’t acting, it’s sincerity."
"It's really disgusting that a large company would go to great lengths to bury a single female executive."
"Watching it, I realized that Min Hee Jin really doesn’t think of anything other than the best for NewJeans."
"Wasn't HYBE the one who first made a pre-emptive strike with propaganda? And now suddenly saying that public opinion doesn't matter? What a load of crap, lol."
