DAY6's Young K recently mentioned where he ranks among national songwriters in copyrights.
On April 13 KST, the idol appeared on the MBC variety show 'Omniscient Interfering View,' where he discussed not only DAY6's long-awaited comeback but his other music-related activities.
Young K expressed gratitude for DAY6's new single topping the charts, saying, "We returned after such a long time. It's an honor that people were looking forward to our comeback."
Young K has been known as a rising songwriter, having not only composed all of the songs on DAY6's latest album, but also participating in songs for a number of artists, including GOT7, Baek Ah Yeon, and H1-KEY. However, during the episode, it was specifically revealed that he ranks third overall when it comes to songwriting copyrights in Korea.
One of the cast regulars, Song Eun Yi commented in surprise, "RM is second in copyright rankings, GD is fifth, and Zico is sixth!"
Young K responded humbly, saying, "It seems like the number of songs determines it. I've been involved in writing and composing all the songs since our debut."
Meanwhile, the music video for DAY6's comeback single "Welcome to the Show" can be seen here.
Those copyright rankings are really inaccurate though because it doesn't matter if you've written the entire song or only one line, it'll count towards the ranking, no matter what
