Where to begin, this world consist of millions of amazing singers who can probably outsing her, but not all amazing singers/vocalist can convey the sincerity of the songs that they sing. She has the ability of doing great on both aspects, her technical skills vocally are already great, but she has another layer that makes her special which is her ability to use her vocals to convey the emotions of her songs and lyrics that even someone like me who cant understand korean can feel it to the bones. I personally did not vibe with ballads back then, but her songs changed my perception completely. Dear name was one of those songs of hers that brought tears to my eyes back in the day that solidified me as a fan even when I didnt fully understand her words. On top of all these, her being a poetic and sincere lyricist that speaks from the heart adds another layer to it. Songs like love wins all, where people were accusing her of queerbaiting, but in reality was written from her experience of losing her love ones to hate, but her standing firm and believing that even though the world may be filled with hate, she will continue to believe that love will win over hate in the end.
I typed all that and I havent even begun to talk about her acting ability 🤯 There will definitely be naysayers that will discredit her talent and fame, but as she said in the past. Please continue to love and hate her, as these are her motivations 🤪 IU truly is one of those generational artist and I have no doubt that her dream of being a long lasting singer will come to fruition.
