Jang Won Young's older sister Jung Da Ah is officially making her debut as an actress.
On February 6, TVing released the teaser trailer along with the main poster ahead of the official release of the drama 'Pyramid Game.'
Based on the popular Naver webtoon of the same name, 'Pyramid Game' depicts a cruel survival rank war where students, divided into victims, perpetrators, and bystanders, immerse themselves in violence through monthly secret voting to select the outcast.
The most eye-catching element in the released main poster is Jang Da Ah.
Recently joining the same agency as her younger sibling, Starship Entertainment, Jang Da Ah makes her first appearance as an actress through 'Pyramid Game.'
In the drama, she takes on the role of Baek Ha Rin. Sitting on the table at the top of the poster, it's speculated that she belongs to the upper hierarchy within the drama.
Jang Da Ah has been garnering much attention as soon as it was reported that she would join the drama as the main cast. With the latest teaser being released, many netizens question whether Jang Da Ah would've gotten such drama roles so quickly if Jang Won Young wasn't her sister.
Korean netizens commented, "This is like reverse nepotism. She definitely got this role because of her sister," "Would she have been able to get the main cast position if she wasn't Jang Won Young's sister?" "Her sister is gorgeous but..." "Definitely got this role thanks to her sister. It would have been an impossible role to get if she was just another rookie," "Would she have been this well-known if it wasn't for her sister?" "She's still pretty," and "I really wonder if she's good at acting or she got the role because of her sister."
And the majority of idols who are now actors would probably never have been cast if they didn't already have popularity. Welcome to how things work.
