Former Rainbow member Hyunyoung has denied any involvement in a cryptocurrency scam.
Following Super Junior's Siwon, Hyunyoung is facing allegations that she's involved in a fraudulent cryptocurrency. The former girl group member asserted that though she was a public relations ambassador for The Korea Youth Committee, she never directly promoted the organization's Youth Pay cryptocurrency.
On February 14, she wrote on her YouTube channel's community page, "I'm writing again because I think I haven't convinced you enough when it comes to certain aspects. To begin with, I have nothing to do with the controversy with Youth Pay and Winner's Coin, which is currently under question, and I'm preparing a criminal complaint against the Youth Committee on this regard."
Hyunyoung continued, "What I did as a public relations ambassador was only a public relations activity for an organization called the Youth Committee, but I've never directly promoted Youth Pay... I would like to reiterate that I have never promoted Youth Pay... As articles and photos are currently causing controversy and suspicion against me, I'm preparing a criminal complaint against the officials of The Korea Youth Committee with the advice of a lawyer."
Hyunyoung further denied she was friends with someone related to the Youth Pay scam, concluding, "I have never participated in controversial coin fraud at all. If you slander me maliciously or talk about unfounded claims about me as if it's true, I will no longer overlook it."
