Rapper Sleepy, who will soon become a father, openly shared his fear about his impending fatherhood as his wife approaches childbirth.
On the broadcast of Channel A's 'Dr. Oh's Golden Clinic' on January 23, Sleepy and Park Seul Gi appeared as special guests. On this day, both Sleepy and Park Seul Gi talked about their expectations of childbirth and also shared their concerns.
Sleepy excitedly announced that he is expecting a daughter, sharing an ultrasound photo to celebrate the news. Sleepy proudly showed the ultrasound, saying, "She is so pretty, with a cute nose and long arms and legs," displaying his excitement.
However, while boasting about the ultrasound photo and smiling, Sleepy unexpectedly opened up about his concern, saying, "I'm afraid to have a child because of money."
During his interview, he shared, "I was so happy when I found out (that I was becoming a father). But I couldn't be happy fully. It's because I don't ever want my child to experience poverty. So the biggest concern I have is the expenses that go into raising a child. That's my biggest worry."
Listening to Sleepy's worries, MC Jung Hyung Don empathized, saying, "I felt the same way. The joy of childbirth came with a sense of responsibility. At the time of my child's birth, I had such a busy life that I had to handle 106 schedules in three months. Somehow, I felt like if I took a break (from earning money), my children would go hungry."
Dr. Oh Eun Young analyzed Sleepy's concern and stated, "It seems that money is very important to Sleepy." She advised that while taking economic responsibility is crucial for everyone, it's necessary to broaden and deepen one's perspective on money. She advised, "To be honest, expressing your love to your child and respecting them, doesn't cost money. Telling your child that you love them, doesn't cost money. Don't forget that. Just do this for your child."
When MC Jung Hyung Don asked Sleepy what kind of father he wanted to be, Sleepy responded, "I want to be a father who my child feels loved by, a father who is like a friend."
She's absolutely right. What every kid wants is to feel loved. Even though my family didn't have money and we strugled greatly, for me, all that I ever wanted was to feel loved and envyed those that had parents who cared and loved them. Money was never on my mind.
