A woman in her twenties, accused of blackmailing and extorting 50 million KRW (approximately 38,624 USD) from the late Lee Sun Gyun, is reported to have engaged in similar activities with other men.
According to a report from Kukmin Ilbo on December 28, the woman whom many in the media refer to as 'A,' deceived multiple men she met on a dating app. Following interactions with these men, she solicited money, claiming reasons such as "I'm pregnant and require funds for an abortion" and "I need financial assistance for medical treatment for the safety of our child."
Moreover, she employed threats to extort money from some individuals, stating, "You are the father of this child, and you must provide child support. If you don't provide the money, I will expose this information publicly." Some of the men who believed her sent money under the pretext of child support. Reports indicate that at least five men fell victim to this scheme, with amounts ranging from several million KRW (a couple thousand USD) to tens of millions of KRW (five figures USD).
One man who doubted the veracity of the woman's claims underwent a paternity test, confirming he was not the father. The victims are now considering filing a complaint against the woman for fraud.
On December 27, legal sources disclosed that the Metropolitan Investigation Unit of the Incheon Police Agency had issued an arrest warrant for the 28-year-old woman identified as 'A' on charges of extortion and blackmail.
The day before, 'A,' who was already the subject of a pre-arrest warrant, failed to appear at her scheduled court hearing at the Incheon District Court, offering no explanation for her absence.
It has come to light that 'A' is the individual responsible for exposing Lee Sun Gyun's private life and coercively threatening him to reveal his association with the entertainment establishment manager, Kim.
This woman, the police, & the media were all instrumental to LSG's death. She most of all. I hope she gets punished for what she did. Punished here on earth and up there.
