Professional golfer Ahn Sung Hyun, who is the husband of former Fin.K.L. member Sung Yuri, is facing a lawsuit. It was reported on December 5 KST, that Ahn Sung Hyun has been sued by CEO Kang Jong Hyun on charges of stealing 300 million won in the name of a coin investment.
Kang Jong Hyun, who was previously arrested on charges of embezzling 62.8 billion won from a Bithumb affiliate, recently filed a complaint at the Gangnam Police Station against Ahn Sung Hyun. It is alleged that Ahn, who is also facing charges of conspiracy to solicit coin listings, has failed to repay money that Kang had lent to him. The lawsuit involves three defendants, including Ahn Sung Hyun.
Ahn Sung Hyun is reportedly claiming, "It is true that a famous PGA Tour golf player wanted to buy coins in the United States, but he never asked to borrow money. The 300 million won is Kang Jong Hyun's borrowed-name investment money."
Meanwhile, Kang Jong Hyun is considered the main culprit in the Bithumb incident and is also known as the former boyfriend of actress Park Min Young. Ahn Sung Hyun is accused of receiving money from a virtual asset issuer with the intention of helping Bithumb's growth. The legal proceedings surrounding this case are expected to shed more light on the situation in the coming days.
