A hospital director, identified as Mr. Yeom in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, is facing an arrest warrant request for allegedly prescribing narcotics like propofol to the driver involved in a serious accident, known as the 'Apgujeong Rolls-Royce' incident. This same doctor is also accused of sexually assaulting approximately ten women while they were under anesthesia. On December 26, the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency's Narcotics Crime Investigation Division charged Yeom with violating the Narcotics Control Act, and the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office requested his arrest.

Back on August 2, the police investigation revealed that Dr. Yeom allegedly prescribed narcotics, including propofol, to Mr. Shin, who was driving the Rolls-Royce involved in a serious collision with a young woman at a crosswalk. It was discovered that Yeom then tampered with and eventually deleted Shin's medical records from his hospital after the incident.

On the same day, although Shin claimed he had undergone a procedure to improve skin elasticity, it was later exposed that he had consumed psychoactive drugs like Midazolam and Diazepam and had been under anesthesia, before driving 100 meters in a state where normal driving was difficult. The female victim was run over and sustained critical injuries, including leg fractures and severe abdominal and head trauma; she passed away due to her injuries in November.

In response to the incident, the Seoul Gangnam Police Station initiated searches at hospitals known to have provided narcotics to Shin. The Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency's Narcotics Crime Investigation Division took over the case in September and conducted more extensive searches at a particular hospital in early October. They continued their detailed investigation through data analysis.

As the investigation progressed, alarming allegations surfaced that Dr. Yeom had sexually assaulted over ten women while they were under anesthesia, spanning from January 2022 to October 2023. These violations were reportedly recorded illicitly. Police are now analyzing data from Yeom's mobile phone and other sources to identify and possibly uncover more victims.

Additionally, despite Yeom's medical license being suspended in October, he faces accusations of continuing to perform medical procedures at his hospital in violation of medical laws.

The substantive review of Yeom's arrest warrant is scheduled to take place on the morning of December 27 at 10:30 AM in the Seoul Central District Court.
