MBC's 'The Story of Park's Marriage Contract' starring Lee Se Young and Bae In Hyuk has been enjoying a considerable amount of popularity with viewers with its intriguing story intertwining a traditional Joseon timeline with the present time.
the most recent episodes of the drama, Lee Se Young's character is finally able to show off her skills in the modern day with her unique hanbok designs. However some eagle-eyed fans were able to identify the designs as a well-known hanbok maker's and posted in excitement.
However when the hanbok maker saw the tweet and watched the scenes back, they confirmed that the designs looked very much like theirs, and that they had not been contacted by the production for permission to use the designs.
The hanbok maker responded by posting "'Story of Park's Marriage Contract' used unauthorized Leesle designs. I've heard that there are instances where sketches that were done once as filming props are kept and continue to be used...that would be a problem. You didn't think you could just sneakily use my designs did you? It was just just an accident because the designs were pretty, right?"
In response, netizens shared their opinions on a Korean online community.
"Even if it's just props, you still need permission...."
"Oh no."
"Oh dear. This seems like a big mistake."
"I don't understand how they can just use them like that. Do things like this still happen these days?"
"How hard is it to send an email to say that you're going to use certain props."
"Wow that's just shameless."
"If they asked for permission there's probably no way they would've said no, what garbage."
"They should've gotten permission T_T I wanted to just enjoy it without any controversies T_T."
"?? It was obviously Leesle's designs that I thought it was a deal that was made, but it was unauthorized use?? What??"
"What's with MBC these days."
The original post has since been deleted with an update from the hanbok maker.
"I just received a reply from a drama representative with a polite apology and that they would cite the source. It is said that there was a communication error during the outsourcing process, and Leesle's design, which was delivered as a reference, was used as is. Now that I have received a sincere apology, I hope this does not become an issue anymore."

Why write the article like the issue wasn’t resolved immediately? You made it seem like it’s still a issue.

Too late, they've already poked the hornets nest in public, Knetz are not going to forget about it if there's something they can tear apart, and fulminate about. The existence of this article, on an issue that has already been resolved, is testament to that.
