SHINee Onew's Japanese fans have donated a well to an elementary school in Cambodia.
On December 14th, the international relief and development charity World Share announced that Onew's Japanese fans donated a well in commemoration of the singer's birthday.
This donation was carried out through 'So Amazing ONEW’s BD Project JP,' a gathering of Onew's Japanese fans, with around 120 fans voluntarily participating in fundraising. Since 2017, they have been constructing wells annually to celebrate Onew's birthday.
The donated well will be constructed at an elementary school in Cambodia and is set to be completed this month. Once finished, it will provide drinking water for students and the surrounding residents.
Alongside the donation, a participating fan stated, "On May 25, 2023, SHINee celebrated their 15th anniversary since their debut in Korea, and in March, Onew held his first solo concert in Korea. Though much time has passed, SHINee and Onew continue to work tirelessly, which makes us proud. We want to channel our love for SHINee and Onew into helping communities in need. We hope that our love for Onew becomes a source of hope for others."
Meanwhile, World Share is an international relief charity engaged in various activities, like supporting child group homes, water resource improvement projects, emergency aid, and dispatching overseas volunteer teams in over 30 countries worldwide.
Example of fans doing something good in honor of their idol instead of being toxic and controlling everything they do by sending protest trucks. Delusional fans: take notes.
