On December 6, IVE's Rei shared two adorable selfies with the caption, "I can eat 1000 strawberries ( ɞ̴̶̷ ༥ ʚ̴̶̷̷ )♡🍓" expressing her adoration for the fruit. While numerous fans responded to Rei's post in the comment section, one response stood out from the rest.

Red Velvet's Joy took a moment to respond to her junior, expressing, "My Rei, I'll buy you 1004 strawberries since my Rei is an angel." In a delightful play on words, the number 1004, pronounced (Chun Sa) in Korean, is homonymous with the Korean term for "Angel." 

Rei then responded back to Joy's comment, saying, "Rei's new schedule: Eat 1004 Strawberries with Joy unnie."

K-netizens responded to this adorable interaction, saying, "They're so close. I always thought they kind of look-alike, like cousins," "So cute!" "I'm so curious how they got so close," "Both of them are so adorable," and "They're interaction is so heartwarming."

Meanwhile, Joy previously revealed a Kakaotalk conversation where she revealed that Rei had drawn a portrait of her.

In the conversation, Rei wrote to Joy, "Sunbaenim, drawing is my hobby and I drew this while looking at your photo." In response, Joy wrote back, "Oh >< Rei, you drew so well. Thank you, I'm so touched. hehehe. Rei you draw so well hehehe I'm going to make it my wallpaper!!!"
