After a long day at school or work, you might just want to go home and put on something you can watch mindlessly, right? Well, K-Dramas sure have a great selection of something light and easy like that, but if you also want some excitement, the perfect one would be those that we would call Ultra Dramatic, or Makjang. Nothing too heavy, but just the right amount of... crazy.
Crazy Love
As in the title, this one has a little craziness to it. The male lead is the CEO of a top math institute in South Korea, who pretends to have amnesia after injuring himself in a car accident, while his introverted and quiet secretary pretends to be his fiancé while knowing he has amnesia.
Starring: Kim Jae-Wook, Krystal Jung, and Ha Jun
King The Land
One of this year's top dramas, this is a very light-hearted and funny drama overboard situations with just the right amount of cheesiness from K-Dramas you would watch from 2010. The plot is simple where the wealthy male lead falls (hard) in love quickly with the working-class female lead, despite their social status.
Starring: Lee Jun-ho and Im Yoon-ah
A Business Proposal
This funny, lovely, and well-written drama is certainly one to add to the list! If you love extra cheese on your meal, this one's it; from the cheesy plot of accidentally falling in love with those of different social statuses to the temporary love-hate relationship, this one has it all.
Starring: Ahn Hyo-seop, Kim Se-Jeong, Kim Min-kyu, and Seol In-ah
Gaus Electronics
You're going to have to hold your belly as this one will get you real good at your funny bone! It's one of the funniest dramas and has pretty cool romantic plots, too!
Starring: Kwak Dong-Yeon, Ko Sung-hee, Bae Hyun-sung and Kang Min-ah
Dali And The Cocky Prince
A duo we'd love to see again because of how cute they were in this one! This one does have a hint of emotional element to it, but it's mostly light and funny. The angst and tension between a high society lady holding a doctorate in Arts and a rich but completely ignorant self-made man, who... eventually fall in love with each other.
Starring: Kim Min-Jae, Park Gyu-young, Kwon Yul, Hwang Hee, and Yeonwoo
Strong Woman Do Bong Soon
If you're currently watching the new spin-off "Strong Girl Namsoon," this is the original one that was popular when it aired in 2017. It's such an entertaining and well-packed drama where the female lead has the superpower of being very physically strong, and the male lead is a wealthy, self-made CEO.
Starring: Park Bo-young, Park Hyung-sik and Ji Soo
The Package
This funny drama is set in Europe, telling the story of a group of tourists on an excursion to France. The male lead is clumsy, funny, and very sweet, while the female lead is a strong woman and does not wait for the man to initiate!
Starring: Lee Yeon-hee, Jung Yong-Hwa, Choi Woo-Shik, and Yoon Park
My Girlfriend is a Gumiho
If you need a little blast from the past, this classic one from 2010 would be perfect! If you aren't familiar with it, this is a sweet and lovely rom-com with a sparkling female lead who will burst your tummy on many occasions.
Starring: Lee Seung-gi and Shin Min-a
King the land is a global hit, great and unforgettable drama with an excellent main actress and actor and also a great and wonderful plot, but TKL did not need an usual/cliche deep "intrigue" to be one of the best k-dramas of all times in the world.
