'Fantasy Boys' contestant Yoo Jun Won has publically clarified his position amid his ongoing feud with his former management company, PocketDol Studio. His parents issued an official press release on October 17, stating that the contract termination was not due to disagreements about profit-sharing, but instead, was because of unfair practices by PocketDol during the contract-signing process.
Yoo Jun Won's parents claimed that PocketDol was neither transparent nor sincere, resulting in a loss of trust and putting the signed contract in jeopardy. Yoo Jun Won's parents said, "PocketDol Studio forced us to pay an unreasonable fixed fee and pressured us into signing the agreement under those terms. Multiple times, they told us that if we didn’t accept their demands, we were welcome to leave."
The parents further dismiss PocketDol's assertions that this dispute was the trigger for the contract's breakdown, maintaining that Yoo Jun Won had hoped for a more amicable conclusion. They added, "Rather than engage in a pointless argument, we hope to find a more productive path forward.”
Yoo Jun Won faced nationwide attention after winning talent competition 'Fantasy Boys' and earning a position in the debut group, Fantasy Boys. However, due to this ongoing dispute, Yoo Jun Won was unable to join the group. This predicament caught even more attention when PocketDol Studio announced last August that Yoo would no longer be able to participate in group activities due to an "unapproved departure."
In an unfortunate turn of events, Phunky Studio has lodged a lawsuit against Yoo Jun Won seeking 3 billion won in damages. The situation has thus turned into a battleground, with both sides providing conflicting accounts of the events that led up to the current impasse.
The press release concluded with a heartfelt message from Yoo Jun Won's parents, expressing their hope for a resolution to the situation. They pledged continued support for their son, thanked his unwavering fans, and reiterated their desire for an equitable conclusion to the entire ordeal.
Despite the ongoing litigation, fans of Yoo Jun Won continue to express their support amid the controversy.

Yeah, this sounds like an unfair contract was imposed. I don't understand how a contract which compels someone to sign another contract, where the conditions are unknown, could possibly be legal. In the UK it's not binding to sign a contract sight unseen, and there isn't a court anywhere which would hold anyone to it, is it different in South Korea?
