K-netizens are getting a kick out of one K-pop fan's sincere love for IU!

On September 23-24 KST, IU held her first-ever fan concert 'I+UN1VER5E' at the KSPO Dome in Seoul. While it is common for fans to attend concerts wearing artist merchandise or outfits inspired by the artists themselves, one fan became a viral hit after documenting not only his journey from his hometown to Japan to attend the event but also his hilarious yet spot-on cosplay look inspired by the music video for IU's hit single "Good Day."

Prior to the concert, on September 14, the fan regularly took to social media to begin planning his outfit, starting with, "This is sudden, but I'm considering trying IU cosplay. If I dress like this, will I be sued?" Another Japanese fan was quick to comment, saying, "I don't think that'd be a problem at all. There was a lot of that at Girls' Generation's anniversary concert," to which he replied, "Is that true? I'd have to dress into it at the hotel, get on the subway, and go all the way to the concert venue in it. Wow, I'm ashamed just imagining it." Another fan was quick to encourage him, saying, "I think if anyone could pull it off it'd be you!"

Later that day, he posted that many fans had been suggesting he either dress in one of her outfits or in the adorable bunny costume she wore on the variety show 'Heroes.' However, he continued to look for more specific suggestions for IU looks, asking his fan friends on social media to recommend shops where he could find these outfit items. He later found a Thom Browne dress similar to the black dress IU wore in the "YOU&I" music video but was shocked by the costly designer price tag.

Two days later, he returned to social media to ask fans' opinions between the "Good Day" and "YOU&I" concept looks, writing, "I want to take on the challenge of cosplaying as IU, but I can't make up my mind because I think it's going to be hell at places like convenience stores or on the way up to or from the concert venue to dress up like a woman for the first time. But I feel like I'd regret it if I don't do it." He then shared a few of his other worries, like, "I'd need a room to do my makeup in," and "If I show up in cosplay, won't it be hard for them to confirm my identity [when I pick up my ticket]?"

He left for Korea on September 22, sharing a photo of his passport and IU photo card and writing a sweet "If you see me in Seoul, feel free to come talk to me!" While traveling through Seoul, he even had an employee at Woori Bank take a photo of him with a promotional cardboard standee of IU herself, uploading a photo of the moment and admitting that some female passersby were giggling at the sight of his fanboy moment.

Finally, on September 24, he made his big reveal, unveiling a photo of himself in his IU cosplay with the caption, "It's a 'Good Day.'" In the photo, he posed happily in front of KSPO Dome in a head-to-toe recreation of the "Good Day" music video look, including not only a long brown wig but orange tights, an orange-red skirt, and a red long-sleeved top.

The photo quickly went viral not only via his personal social media but also through Korean online communities. In one post, titled "A Japanese fan who arrived to IU's concert in IU cosplay," Korean netizens were endeared by the man's dedication – while also sharing some big laughs as they assumed a fan wanting to cosplay IU would be female. Reactions included, "Hahaha I thought the fan was going to be a woman until I saw the final picture," "Hahahaha no way!
