MINA is a member of the world-renowned girl group TWICE, who debuted in the K-Pop scene in 2015 with the mini-album 'The Story Begins,' featuring the title song "Like Ooh-Ahh." Since then, the group has gained international recognition with their chart-topping hit singles, including "Cheer Up," "What Is Love?", "FANCY," "Feel Special," "Alcohol-Free," and their latest title song, "SET ME FREE," among others.

In July of 2023, MINA once again debuted, but this time with TWICE's first-ever sub-unit, MISAMO, along with her fellow members SANA and MOMO. With the release of their anticipated debut mini-album 'Masterpiece,' the Japanese unit is poised to make a significant impact on the Japanese music scene and beyond, captivating audiences worldwide. 'Masterpiece' showcased their otherworldly visuals and talents and also demonstrated the members' active involvement in the album's creation.

In the same month, 'SK-II' held an exhibition titled 'SK-II SECRET KEY HOUSE,' where they unlocked its best-kept secrets behind 'PITERA™, the Secret Key to Crystal Clear Skin,' which featured an exclusive appearance from MINA, one of the global celebrity ambassadors of the prestige skincare brand 'SK-II.'

“I’m particularly eager about joining the 'SK-II SECRET KEY HOUSE' because it marks the first time that I’ll be meeting and interacting with PITERA™ fans in-person as SK-II’s ambassador," said MINA. “I can’t wait to share the story of my transformational skin journey – I might even include more secrets of my own!”

allkpop: Hi, MINA! First of all, congratulations on being an ambassador of SK-II! You've already mentioned that PITERA™ helps you a lot, especially with your busy schedules. What was it like trying the product by the global prestige skincare SK-II for the first time, and what has it been like working with them until now?

MINA: Thank you so much! Trying the PITERA™ Experience for the first time was unforgettable. I was surprised at first at how watery it was, but I loved the way it felt on my skin and how quickly it was absorbed, and since then, it has truly made a difference in my skin. With crystal-clear skin comes confidence! Working with SK-II until now means that I’ve gained a much better, in-depth understanding of my skin and PITERA™ with SK-II’s many breakthrough discoveries. I also appreciate that SK-II gives me the opportunity to showcase my authentic self through the stories that I am able to share about my life and skin. 

allkpop: Last May, you partnered with SK-II as its global ambassador. When you were announced as the brand's ambassador, what thoughts were running through your mind that you are now part of SK-II? You also said that you've known the brand since you were a child — it must be a dream come true as well!

MINA: I was so excited! SK-II has always been one of my favourite brands and I was so excited to become the ambassador of such an amazing brand. I was very keen to learn more about the brand’s heritage and innovations, as well as to try out the products myself. What I really like about our partnership is that SK-II is a very innovative brand while keeping authenticity at the heart of what they do, which has given me the opportunity to share a lot about myself. Most recently, I was involved in SK-II’s new THE SECRET KEY films, where I shared an untold story about how I became the person I am today. Do check it out! 

allkpop: You also said that one piece of advice you would give your younger self is to get enough rest. We can't imagine how busy you are as part of the global girl group TWICE. During comebacks and tours, I know you only get a little bit of time to rest, but you said that you'll be able to rely on PITERA™. How would you say this product helped you maintain your glowing skin, especially since you're an idol? Taking care of your skin is one of the most important things as an idol, right? Do you and the other TWICE members talk about your skincare routines or secrets?

MINA: Skin is very essential, and in recent years, I’ve really started prioritizing taking care of my skin because I’ve learned that it’s best to start early. All the members are highly invested in skincare, and we’ll openly share our favorite skincare tips, products, and knowledge that can help keep our skin in its best condition. One thing that all the members agree on is the importance of moisturizing. For me, personally, the PITERA™ is truly my secret key to crystal clear skin, keeping my skin hydrated from day to night! I love how the PITERA™ Essence keeps my skin moisturized even during harsh weather conditions. I’ve also noticed that I’ve received compliments more often now after continuously using PITERA™! 

allkpop: You recently made your Japanese debut with TWICE's sub-unit, MISAMO! Congratulations! Your schedule in a day can get super hectic... Shoots, recordings, interviews, comebacks, tours, and such... What do you do to keep your skin healthy? Not only your skin but also physically and mentally!

MINA: I try to drink lots of water and make time for sufficient rest and exercise. At night, I enjoy my skincare routine, which includes patting the PITERA™ Essence into my skin – it’s my little ‘me-time’ at the end of the day and something I don’t compromise on! I also really love the GenOptics Ultraura Essence for giving my skin a glow from within, and I’ve started using SK-II’s newest anti-aging cream, the Skinpower Advanced Cream. 

allkpop: Knitting is one of your favorite hobbies. I was wondering if you have any favorite knitting patterns or maybe something that you already created that is your personal favorite in particular.

MINA: Knitting is indeed one of my favorite hobbies. I really enjoyed my personal project of trying to make a rug, and I also like making gifts for people!

allkpop: You said that you really love spending your time alone, taking care of yourself, especially your skin. What do you love most about yourself? Also, when someone compliments your skin and beauty, how do you usually react, and what would you say to them?

MINA: Over the years, I’ve matured and gotten stronger as a person, and learned to embrace 

who I am. I appreciate that a lot about myself now. I am grateful for all kinds of words and compliments, and when it comes to beauty, I believe that it isn’t just skin-deep. Being content and at ease with yourself, and doing what makes you happy, gives you a genuine glow from within.
