An unfortunate accident a day prior to 'Waterbomb Osaka 2023' has led to the death of a staff member.
On July 14, 'Waterbomb Osaka 2023' announced the cancellation of the weekend event, originally scheduled to take place from July 15-16 at Maishima Sports Island. The event stated, "A serious accident occurred during the stage setup for the Osaka event; therefore, we announce the cancellation of 'Waterbomb Osaka 2023'."
According to the event's official statement, a male staff member was hit in the head with water from a water sprouting machine, blasting at approximately 120 kilometers per hour. The staff lost consciousness and was transported to the hospital, where he ultimately passed away.
Meanwhile, K-Pop acts such as Kwon Eun Bi, Jay Park, Daesung, 2PM's Nichkhun and Jun.K, Jessi, Yugyeom, Baekho, MAMAMOO+, STAYC, and more were scheduled to perform at 'Waterbomb Osaka 2023'. 'Waterbomb Nagoya 2023' and 'Waterbomb Tokyo 2023', two sister events scheduled for July 22-23 and July 29-30 respectively, will carry on as planned.
