Nam Tae Hyun (age 30), who caused a drunk driving accident in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, has received a fine.
The ruling was issued by Judge Ham Hyun Ji at the Seoul Central District Court. The court ordered a fine of 6 million KRW (~4,625 USD) for Nam's violation of the Road Traffic Act (DUI).
On March 8, around 3:30 AM, Nam Tae Hyun was allegedly driving under the influence in a residential area in Gangnam-gu, Seoul. During this incident, he accidentally damaged the side mirror of a passing taxi while opening the door of the parked car.
After conducting a breathalyzer test, the police determined that Nam Tae Hyun's blood alcohol level was 0.114%, surpassing the limit for license revocation (0.08%). In response, Nam's representatives stated that he had driven his car briefly to clear the way for his acquaintances' vehicles while waiting for a substitute driver.
In March, the police handed Nam Tae Hyun over to the Seoul Central District Prosecutor's Office on charges of driving under the influence. The prosecutors subsequently pursued a brief prosecution against him. The summary indictment was conducted through a written hearing, allowing the prosecution to request a fine without proceeding to a formal trial.
It is worth noting that Nam is also currently under investigation by the prosecution for his alleged involvement in the purchase and administration of methamphetamine, along with 'Heart Signal' cast member Seo Min Jae (30).
