Actress Song Ji Hyo and former employees of Uzurocks have filed a complaint against the former CEO, Mr. A, with the Ministry of Employment and Labor for embezzlement, delayed wages, etc. Despite his promise to pay the wages by a certain deadline, the employees were never paid. Some employees have already completed their investigation while others are still waiting for a call from the ministry.
The claims of other entertainment officials suggest that wage delays began as early as February. Around 70 employees, including outsourcing companies, were not paid their salaries due to Mr. A's mishandling of large expenses involved in promoting and producing projects.
Regarding this, an official said, "Among the employees who left without receiving wages, some left the industry altogether, and some returned to work at other companies."
Song Ji Hyo willingly offered private expenses to help employees who have been struggling due to the wage delays, even though she herself is owed approximately 900 million won (around $707,324 USD). She also paid for her on-site expenses with her own money after preventing her managers from delinquent card payments.
Last month, Song Ji Hyo filed an unpaid lawsuit against Mr. A and notified Uzurocks of the termination of her exclusive contract. She is currently taking legal action against the unpaid amount. Her legal representative confirmed that she had filed a complaint against Mr. A for violating the Act on Aggravated Punishment for Specific Economic Crimes (embezzlement) with the Gangnam Police Station on May 23 KST.
Rooting for Song Jihyo and everyone!!
