On June 27, Jiyoon, a former member of 4Minute, was featured on the YouTube channel 'Geun Hwang Olympics,' where she shared details about her current endeavors.
In the video, Jiyoon discussed her involvement in a co-ed trio band named PRSNT, her writing work, and her various individual activities. Reflecting on her past earnings from her time with 4minute, she admitted to having impulsive spending habits, acquiring items that ultimately held no significance for her. She shared, "When I received would receive a large sum of money, I used to buy this and that. When I bought material things (luxury goods and bags), I would later forget I bought them. They held no significance."
She shared that this realization led her to explore alternative ways to grow her money, prompting her interest in financial technology and investment. Jiyoon shared, "So I started studying. (I thought) why did I use my money somewhere else when I could invest it and earn more money from it? So, I took an interest in retirement investments."
Jiyoon shared, "(the idol payment system) is a system where you receive a lump sum of money at once. So it's easy to be mistaken that popularity is everlasting. But I want to let people know that it doesn't last forever." She emphasized the importance of long-term financial planning and offered advice to aspiring idols, stressing the need to be mindful of their finances and to plan for their future. The YouTube video title also reveals that she bought a house in Seoul and regularly rides the subway.
When asked about any challenges she faced during her time with 4minute, Jiyoon expressed gratitude and considered herself fortunate. She shared, "I didn't think it was too hard. I thought myself to be lucky. So, I had a strong mentality because think positively. I promoted happily."
In recent years, Jiyoon has been actively pursuing various projects, including the release of the OST "You Were Like That" for the daily drama 'Love In Eyes' in December of last year.
