On May 15, a distressing revelation emerged when an online community member shed light on an idol who was the target of vicious attacks on Twitter.
Yoonsang, a member of the pre-debut group IB147, shared a photo of himself on the social media platform, asking fans about his charms. Instead of receiving support, Yoonsang was bombarded with harsh criticisms from numerous Twitter users, attacking his appearance.
Many cruel comments, such as "He looks like a cabbage," "He's too ugly to be active in Korea. So, he should just stay in Japan," "I think I'm better looking than him," and "He's an idol? I thought he was a rookie comedian" were posted.
The tweet has been viewed 8.3 million times with over 10,000 quotes, with many criticizing the member's appearance.
The netizen who brought attention to the attack explained in a popular Korean online community that Yoonsang is being attacked indiscriminately due to misinformation that spread earlier about the idol.
The netizen explained, "He's trying to live diligently but he's being attacked and I'm upset because he probably looks at all the tweets that are attacking him. He debuted as the Maknae member of the group AWEEK but they disbanded. He wasn't able to give up on his dreams of being an idol and is living diligently."
The netizens continued, "Even before he debuted there were rumors that he bullied a member who left his previous group but then the agency revealed that it was false and said they would take legal action against those who spread false information." The online user clarified that the agency already released an official statement stating that the rumors were false, but netizens continued attacking the idol.
Despite the cruel remarks from some netizens, many defended the idol, criticizing the mean comments and questioning why people would be so cruel. These sensible online users are criticizing the mean netizens who attacked the idol's appearance and commented, "These people are so mean," "Why are people so evil? Do they want to live like that?" "He looks fine, why are people so evil?" "I think people are just crazy," "I wish the agency can just sue all the people who are making fun of him," "Some Twitter users are crazy for sure," and "Doesn't matter what happened before but making fun of him in public like that is just mean."
Fucking idiots as always. Yes AWEEK disbanded he was the maknae. No he never bullied anyone amd IB147's company let out a huge statement protecting him. It is so gross that people believe anything now a days and are shallow as can be to tear someone down over their looks. Gross.
