On her birthday this year, IU generously donated 250 million KRW (186,231 USD) to support single-parent families and elderly individuals living alone.
The donation was made through various organizations. IU contributed 100 million KRW (74.5 USD) to the Heart-Heart Foundation, which supports underprivileged children, and 50 million KRW (37,246 USD) each to The Happiness Foundation, the Korean Unwed Mothers’
Families Association (KUMFA), and the Korean Foundation for Support of the Senior Citizen in Need. In total, she donated to four separate foundations under 'IUaena', representing her name (IU) and her fandom name (Uaena).
IU has consistently shown her dedication to helping the underprivileged. Since her debut in 2008, her donations have surpassed 4.3 billion KRW (3.2 million USD) as of last year.
Her philanthropic journey began when she selflessly donated all the proceeds from her first fan meeting in 2011, which marked the 1,004th day of her debut.
Even during challenging times such as the Gangwon-do forest fire and the COVID-19 pandemic in 2019, IU extended her support to the victims and medical staff. Currently, she is captivating audiences with her recently released film 'Dream'.
Angel IU as always.. thumbs up..
