Home and Away: Korean Actors with Citizenship in Other Countries

While it's not uncommon for K-pop idols to have citizenship in other countries, several Korean actors have multiple citizenships worldwide. These actors have been making waves not only in South Korea but also in their countries of origin. Through their talent and hard work, they have been representing their respective countries on the global stage and have become a source of pride for their fellow citizens.

Choi Woo Shik: Canada

Choi Woo Shik is the man who was in the movie ‘Parasite,’ the hit K-Drama ‘Our Beloved Summer,’ and part of the famous friendship group, ‘Wooga Squad.’ His family moved from South Korea to Canada when he was in elementary school. He stayed there until college, when he decided to pursue acting in South Korea.

Ahn Hyo Seop: Canada

Did you know that your favorite CEO from the hit drama, "Business Proposal," grew up in Canada? Similar to Woo Shik, his family also moved to Canada when he was in elementary school, and he chose to return to South Korea to attend college and start his acting career.

Ma Dong Suk: United States

You might have noticed him in "Train to Busan" or last year's Marvel action film, "Eternals," this legendary actor was born in South Korea but resided in Ohio, United States, and attended college at Columbus State.

Go Sung Hee: United States, South Korea

Why choose one when you can have both? This beautiful actress holds dual citizenship in both the United States and South Korea. She was born in the United States because her father was working as a Korean Ambassador at the time.

Han Chae Young: United States

Before returning to South Korea, this Korean-born goddess spent her childhood in a Chicago suburb until high school.

Jung Ryeo Won: Australia

Several years after she was born, her family emigrated to Australia, where they stayed there until her college years.

Lee Da Hae: Australia

Another 'down under' resident, this star, was born in Seoul, but her family moved to Australia when she was in elementary school. Her entire family stayed there until her junior year of high school.
