SUGA has expressed his admiration for Sakamoto's music since the age of 12, when he first encountered it while watching the film 'The Last Emperor.' Over time, SUGA developed a deep appreciation for Sakamoto's work and became a devoted fan of the renowned composer.
In a touching tribute to Sakamoto, SUGA shared that he was the one who reached out to the composer and requested the collaboration. The two artists were able to meet in person last September in Tokyo and work together on "Snooze."
