ITZY's Yeji sat down with W Korea magazine while traveling through Los Angeles, Atlanta, Chicago, New York, and more for the group's North America leg of their world tour. ITZY has been on their world tour traveling through various major cities throughout North America, Asia, and more.

During this latest interview with the fashion magazine, Yeji shared her passion and her views on music and also expressed her affection and love for her fans.

This was the first time Yeji had done a pictorial and interview on her own without the whole group. Yeji shared, "Yes, this pictorial is very meaningful. When we (ITZY) arrive at the film site, there are at least two chairs prepared for hair and makeup but when I arrived today, there was only one."

Even during their tour, ITZY has been consistently posting YouTube videos for their fans. Yeji shared her affection for her fans and shared, "Our fandom name is cute too, it's 'MIDZY'."

Yeji shared that she still gets nervous when performing on stage for her fans, even though she doesn't look nervous at all. She explained, "In my experience, there are two cases when I get nervous: I get nervous either because I didn't prepare enough or it's another type of nervousness from the excitement of being on stage. While on this tour, I was able to learn the other type of nervousness that comes even if we prepared the performances close to perfect."

ITZY's world tour started last year and will end in April this year. Although this tour is called the first world tour, ITZY had the experience of performing overseas with their Premiere Showcase Tour that started at the end of 2019. Yeji shared that many things have changed since and shared, "It's incredibly different. The size of the venue and the scale of the tour are different. In the past, we didn't perform as many songs but that experience from our debut is helping us a lot."

She also shared that she is able to see an increase in the number of fans through this tour. She explained, "I am able to see and think 'Wow, the number of fans who support us has increased this much' and am able to really feel the difference that occurred during the few years. So it's really fascinating and I'm happy to see it."

Yeji also shared that she is very impressed with her fans overseas who can understand Korean. The ITZY member explained, "(The fans) are just good at speaking Korean. I thought they just memorized the songs when they sing along but the fans understand what we say in Korean and respond even before the interpreter translates. So any country we visit, I always say 'Wow! you guys are really good at speaking Korean!' I really am able to see that there are a lot of people who know a lot about Korea not only K-pop."

During this latest interview, Yeji also shared the motto she lives by, which is "Believe in myself," and how that applies to her music career. She explained, "It sounds so grand to say it's a motto but it's a phrase that I naturally accepted because I learned early on that I reap as much effort I sowed. Because you're the one who knows yourself the most. Since I know that my skills will increase as much effort I put in, there is nothing else but to believe in myself."
