Yuanta Securities Korean Industry Analysis uploaded their year-end analysis of K-pop releases in 2022. They have analyzed the albums' sales, chart performance, views, and streaming information of all groups and soloists that were active in 2022.

According to the data release, Jin was one of the most successful K-pop soloists of 2022, scoring the highest results in all categories. According to Yuanta Securities, he was also the most-streamed soloist of 2022, the #4 most-streamed K-pop act overall, and the #6 most-streamed K-pop song. Analyzing the Japan Oricon Annual Single in 2022 chart, it's seen that 'The Astronaut' was the highest-charting solo song last year. In the 2022 Idol Release Album Initial Ranking, Jin is the highest-charting soloist (#16) as well!

Jin's fans celebrated the new achievement by trending "JIN TOP SOLOIST" and "CONGRATULATIONS JIN" on Twitter. They remembered all the numerous milestones Jin has achieved as a soloist in 2022 and 2023. 

In February, Jin was also named the only 'Complete Idol' among K-pop soloists that had their music released in 2022. The analysis of sales and general public popularity was done by the Secretary General of KMCA (Korea Music Content Association) and Circle (Gaon) Chart, Choi Kwang-Ho. 

It was also revealed that HYBE had no plans regarding Jin's solo debut last year. 'The Astronaut,' as well as all of the connected projects and details, have been organized by Jin himself, as a personal initiative. He became the first million-seller among HYBE soloists and is now the 2nd best-selling solo artist this decade. Overall, Jin owns more than 7% of all HYBE's yearly sales.

Aside from showing great performance on the local and Japanese charts, Jin made history on the global charts as well. Jin's 1st week of digital sales in the US even surpassed the results of his own group, BTS, with the title 'Yet to Come.' He made it to the Top 5 of the biggest 1st-week sales in the USA as well (44K). 'The Astronaut' remains the highest-charting solo song on the Billboard Hot100 despite exceptional competition (#51). Jin also holds the record of the highest first appearance on the Hot 100 in K-pop history among all acts. 

The artist scored the biggest debut sales ever on the Global Billboard 200 (62k) among soloists. Jin is the highest-peaking K-pop soloist on the Billboard Hot 100 in Japan this decade (#4) and the first foreign artist to top the Oricon Sales chart in the past 11 years. Hence, he became one of a few soloists to get the RIA Japan certificate. In Korea, Jin is the first soloist to get a 1,000,000 gold certificate for a single album on Circle (Gaon) even despite the missing data about his sales in the USA and Europe. 

'The Astronaut' is still charting in the Top 5 of the Billboard World Digital Song Sales chart (10th week). He was the first K-pop soloist to top the said chart for 3 weeks straight!
